The Cottage at Dunmore
Built in c.1860 using locally sourced red gum, The Cottage at Dunmore stands as one of the oldest homes in the district, steeped in history and enriched by local folklore. According to legend, the iconic Ned Kelly himself was a frequent visitor to this charming abode, adding an extra layer of intrigue to its storied past.
In 2018, a thoughtful year-long restoration preserving its old-world charm and blending with modern comforts to offer a luxurious country Victorian farm stay experience, welcoming up to six guests. Whether you’re planning a family retreat, a getaway with friends, or a romantic escape.
Relax with a long, hot bath and sink into a dreamy night’s sleep in one of the three thoughtfully appointed bedrooms, each adorned with sumptuous French bed linen and cosy woollen throws. The fully equipped country-style kitchen invites culinary creativity, encouraging you to craft memorable meals with fresh, seasonal produce sourced from the many local growers in our region. Our nearest town Benalla is a short 15 minutes drive away where you will find three supermarkets (Aldi, Coles, and Woolworths), Fruits n Fare grocer, Beatons Butchers for your pantry essentials.

Our nightly rates include;
• Aesop body products
• French flax bed linen, woollen throws and additional blankets, Sheridan bath towels.
• A fully equipped kitchen including electric oven, convection cook top, dishwasher, citrus juicer, bullet blender, capsule coffee Machine, French press and Moka Stove top pot and milk frother (note there is no microwave and original wood stove is decommissioned and not to be used).
• General kitchen supplies; a selection of Emme Mac Black specialty coffee (compostable capsules and ground coffee) , LOVE teas, Five Groves olive oil, salt, pepper, compost, garbage bags, cling wrap, foil, dishwashing & dishwasher detergent, tea towels, cooking apron, linen and paper napkins.
• Ironing board & iron, clothes drying rack. (note there is no washing machine or dryer at the Cottage however there are two laundromats in Benalla, 15 mins away).
• A porta cot and high chair are available by request.
• Split system Air-conditioning, individual bedroom wall heaters, underfloor heating in bathroom & toilet, wood fire heater & firewood.
• Weber gas BBQ.
• Smart TV
