“We felt the full hearth of Bec and Angus’s place, turning down the tree-lined driveway and taking in the sweep of country and cattle. A swing on a rope-tied bough, firepit perfectly cued for stargazing, firewood stacked generously, enchanted all at once. Boots were quickly cast off at the door to sink into a pillow-buffed lounge, which you could easily occupy for a few days’ worth of reading. The fire was lit, a candle infused the room. Texturally and practically, the house is geared for utmost comfort. The rooms are toasty, the beds swoon-worthily cosy, a kitchen bowl bulged with fresh grapefruit from the farm, and the coffee is the owners’ own sublime Emme Mac Black label. There is a generosity to the whole set-up. You feel like you really are borrowing from a very special place, still with your own privacy. You can easily plant down, but there are beautiful drives, foodie destinations, historical points and great towns in all directions and it does make you want in on the lifestyle.
